My deepest condolences. Kevin and I were college roommates at Robert Morris and I am deeply saddened to hear of his passing. We were real close friends back in the early 80's and I will never forget those few years we spent together.

My thoughts and prayers for everyone. I had the pleasure working with him while in the banking industry and he always left everyone in the office laughing hysterically. He was a great person. John Romano Jr

Kevin made me laugh harder than anyone I have ever met. I will never forget his pirate voice and his love of laugh, a good man all around.

I had the pleasure of working with Kevin for many years and certainly saw that "something special" about him. He ran our Tampa office and put his own special culture of success on that office. His laugh, his smile, his demeanor, his leadership - his caring about people. These were all key ingredients to the great success he created. I will forever remember Kevin as a great leader, a great mentor and a great friend. My thoughts and prayers are with Kristen and his family - KD will be sorely missed....

So sorry to hear of Kevin's passing....I wish I had the words to express how my heart aches for all of you. I saw him not to long ago and can say the fun loving kid in him was still there just like when he was 18!!! All the memories from the past make me smile. Lots of good times..and if he meets up with Doc there will be plenty more!!! jackie and the Welch family..

I had the pleasure of knowing Kevin for the last 10 years. Some of my best years were spent working for KD and I feel so honored and blessed. His positivity and "go get 'em attitude" was infectious. He was a wonderful leader and an extraordinary motivator. He made everyone in his surroundings feel appreciated, even the garbage man, and he. was. always. fair. I speak for so many when I say that KD impacted many lives and for the better. His presence will be missed but his spirit will live on in so many. I will miss him dearly. Thank you to the family - Stella, Mack, Bret, Kristen, Ruth & Richard, Keith, Kara and many more of you, for sharing Kevin with us. I pray for your comfort and healing.

As the crossing guard near the Ormsby Cafe , Kevin's new Restaurant. I only knew Kevin for a short time. I would see him in passing as he and Kristen prepared and opened their new Restaurant. He would always greet you with a smile and made a point to know your name. If you walked into his restaurant for the first time he made you feel as if he knew you for years. Kevin was the most personable person I ever met. Even the children in the neighborhood were saddened by his passing. My fondest memory of him was him taking a picture of Kristen as she made her planter box outside the Cafe.
My deepest sympathy to Kristen and his family , he will be missed by his new founded community.

I worked with Kevin in the mid nineties and then again for several years in the early 2000's when he was a branch manager in Tampa and I was a branch manager in Charlotte for the same company. Kevin was a great friend, mentor, and had an infectious positive attitude that always made you want to be around him. His laugh and funny sayings will forever be in my memory. When I learned of his illness several years ago, it made me sad, but when I wrote him, and he wrote me back, his words once again made me laugh! I know his kids, wife, and family will greatly miss him and I pray for you all. I wanted you to know that Kevin was special to many people outside of his family and was the kind of person you could trust in every situation. See you someday Kevin!

We didn't know Kevin for very long. As patrons to he and Kristens great place we also enjoyed seeing him and feeling his warmth and kindness every time we stopped by for some good beers and good food. He made our family feel welcomed and was always so genuine. It was like you stepped into his home not his business. You can't get that feeling just anywhere. We are so sorry for the loss of what we know to be a great guy.

Posted by Jason Hudson - Pittsburgh, PA - Patron   March 29, 2015

I am one of Kevin's many first cousins and I fondly remember him. As you must be well aware he was a member of a huge family dispursed throughout the country. Therefore, I always enjoyed our family reunions because this was a special time when we got together. I fondly remember Kevin and was greatly saddened to hear of his passing. I want to extend my sincere sympathy to you and your family. I will keep you in my prayers. God's grace will assist you through this time. Also, I have been sick so I am unable to attend the visitation services today.

You will never be forgotten Kevin. Many years ago you came into my life thru your parents. No one would ever know when or where you would show up and always a smile on your face thru it all. You were a blessing to all who knew you and so sorry for our loss as well as your family.

GREGARIOUS, WARM, WELCOMING, ENTHUSIASTIC, POSITIVE AND SINCERE....Kevin was truly one of a kind. He felt like a friend from the minute our family met him nearly eight years ago, and I'm sure that many share that feeling about him for he just had that special knack for making people feel good about themselves. We all have much to learn from Kevin's infectious personality and all-in outlook on life.

Thank you Kevin. You are already missed you by many.

John 14:1-3
1 "Do not let your hearts be troubled. Trust in God; trust also in me. 2 In my Father's house are many rooms; if it were not so, I would have told you. I am going there to prepare a place for you. 3 And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come back and take you to be with me that you also may be where I am.

Just like Kevin, I too have always been a giant Pittsburgh sports fan. Kevin took me to my first Pittsburgh Steelers and PITT Panther football game on the same weekend when I was 14. He allowed me to stick around after the Steelers game to try to get autographs. Really a great memory for me.

So glad that while up for a Steelers game last December that I had to chance to spend some time with him at his restaurant. I happened to thank him for taking me to those games all those years ago. He said "of big deal". But it was a big deal to me. A 26 year old taking his teenage cousin that loved the Steelers but didn't have an adult male figure in his life at the time, nor the financial ability to do a weekend in Pittsburgh and giving him that experience is a perfect example of how kind, loving, and thoughtful Kevin always was. Thank you again Kevin......

Aunt Ruth, Uncle Dick, Keith, and you work through your grief, a small comfort can come from knowing that his Aunt Grace surely greeted him with some freshly baked cookies and welcomed him home.

Love you all,
Troy & Rachel

I have only known Kevin through Kara who has kindly and happily shared many tales of his joy, strength and a few escapades. What an awesome brother to have and then to lose. He is someone that I wish I could have known in person and know I would have been drawn in by his tremendous being.

I wish healing and strength to all of those who mourn him. Your loss must
be so huge.

Kara, I'm sending my heart......

Love, Sue
