Condolence & Memory Journal

Dear Joan, Rachel, and David and family - I was so sorry to hear about Bob's (Cousin Bobby always to me!) passing. We got together many times as kids. I remember my first plane ride was to Bobby's bar mitzvah (he was just ahead my brother Mike). This was in the days of prop planes! It was very exciting and my first real grown-up (I thought) event, where I recall the party, learning about doing "The Twist" and hearing "Red Sails in the Sunset" and even eating pizza for the very first time (can you imagine--ha!).

We always had a great time visiting the cousins in Buffalo and even from an early age we could see that Bobby had tons of friends and was well loved by everyone. I know that sunny personality of his carried on through his life. He was a great comfort to me when my mom, Dorie, passed away and I called him to let him know.

His smile reminds me so very much of Aunt Mickey - a real spitfire and go-getter! My mom always looked up to her older sister for advice and direction.

Sending love to you all.

BTW - can you post a direct link to donating for Bob's St. Jude's fund? I was not able to find a direct way to donate when I went to St. Jude's site.

Love - Cousin Annie (Anniebeth, as I'm sure Bobby thought of me)

Joan and Family,
I was very sorry to here about Dr. Green. He was an excellent physician. His Healthcare changed my life. I would see him on TV at Pirate games. This year they acknowledged him and showed him sitting in upper box area. I smiled. Contributing to St.Jude to his fund

A wonderful person and a wonderful friend with memories dating back 50 years to Rochester with shared experiences that include many meals at off campus diners, visiting Buffalo, hitchhiking to Cleveland, going to Pirates camp in Bradenton and reunions among college friends in Delaware and upstate N.Y. (see pic). Condolences to the family on a great loss.

Dr. Green has been in my life since I was 8-yrs-old. He was the best pediatrician and later PCP; and then one of my best friends. I love him & miss him not being in this world. Rob was always a beautiful soul & a beautiful person. My sincere condolences to his beautiful wife, Joan & his wonderful children. God bless the Green family.

Bob was a classmate of mine from Bennett High School in Buffalo, NY. One of the nicest human beings I have ever known. Always smiling; always positive and always friendly. We shared a lot of the same teachers back then, and both had an interest in biology/medicine. I reconnected with him in the 90s when I was lecturing in Pittsburgh and recall having dinner with him at a fine Italian restaurant on a hill overlooking downtown Pittsburgh and the rivers. Also got to see him at Bennett High School reunions in Buffalo. So cool that he was the team physician for a sports team. He will be greatly missed by family, friends and I am sure patients. Please accept my deepest condolences. Bob Kloner.

My condolences to the Green family. Rob was such a wonderful person. I enjoyed our time together playing in the Basements and the time we spent teaching Brian to appreciate the Beatles. He was a warm and caring person and I always admired his drive and enthusiasm for everything he cared about whether it was music, baseball, medicine or his friends. When you entered Rob Green's world you were all in. I consider an honor to have known him and share the stage with him. Rest In Peace my good friend, we'll all miss you.

I have known Rob'Sonny, 'Pumpsie' since we went to grade school. He was one of my schoolmates that I felt very close with. We reconnected during our 50th Bennett H.S. reunion. He generously invited me to many Pirates games. His treat. Last time I saw Bob was after a game and he invited me to see his memorabilia collection. He was 1 of a kind. I will miss him.

I was Bob's fraternity roommate sophomore year. A great guy and fun to be with a true Pirates fan and none too many of them! I live near Bradenton FL and even met him there for Pirates spring training. The world is a little less kind now.
