Condolence & Memory Journal

Haley impacted everyone's' life that knew her. An amazing person and fighter. All of us at the children's hospital who knew her were touched by her wonderful personality, her tender soul and her passion about learning and offering help to patient with neuromuscular disease.
She will be greatly missed but never forgotten.

To say that Haley was only a classmate, wouldn't nearly be enough. Haley was an amazing friend, and will always be missed. She was casually the funniest person in our small group of 11. She was creative and insightful. She always seemed to know exactly what to say, no matter the situation. Over the 2.5 years that Haley was my classmate, she was nothing short of inspirational. She had goals and set out to achieve them. She was determined to be the best genetic counselor she could possibly be. My condolences go out to her family and fellow friends. Haley will always be a part of the Pitt GC class of 2021, and we will all cherish the memories we had together.

I sat next to Haley in Dr. Roman's Genetics class at Pitt, and we would share our thoughts during discussions. I found her to be very intelligent, very friendly and generous in sharing her thoughts and ideas. I found it truly inspiring to see how she went beyond her disability to achieve so much! Her desire to help people with Genetic diseases by becoming a Genetic counselor was nothing short of amazing. I'm deeply saddened to hear of her passing and it has definitely left a void in many hearts.

Haley was such a great role model for academic excellence, engagement, and maturity. She is remembered proudly and fondly by the W&J community.

I am so saddened to hear of Haley's passing. She was my advisee for her biology major at W&J College, and spent much time in my office talking about her goals for the future. Haley was also in several of my classes. She was particularly excited when she in my Genetics class and lab, where she stood out for her interest and work ethic. I think that had she lived, Haley would have made a huge contribution to the field of Genetic Counseling, because she had the experience and passion for it.

My sympathy and prayers go to Haley's family.

Sincerely,

Alice Lee
